Brothers of Brava
A journey born between the Atlantic Ocean, volcanic mountains, music, migration and survival.

Before the journey
Before the oceans, there was childhood.
On the island of Brava, childhood was shaped by sunlight, music, hunger, distance and hope.
Brothers of Brava follows the extraordinary real journey of two brothers travelling across Cabo Verde, Senegal, Guinea-Bissau, Brazil and France in search of survival and belonging.

The island
Volcanic roads.
Atlantic winds.
Endless horizons.
Leaving Brava
Some roads led home. Others led away forever.
Migration was not a dream. It was survival.
Families crossed oceans searching for work, dignity and a future that the islands could no longer provide.

Assistência and survival
Behind the beauty, there was hunger.
Families survived through community, resilience, trade, migration and assistência.
Brothers of Brava is a tribute to those who left with almost nothing, carrying family, memory and hope across the Atlantic world.

Music and memory
When there was little, there was still music.
Morna, rhythm and gathering carried stories between generations long before the internet existed.
Coming soon
